Software Engineer II – Embedded Medical Devices

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications for medical devices.
• Deliver automated and manual verification against functional and performance requirements.
• Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions.
• Document software designs, implementation decisions, and test outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and customer‑reported issues.
• Partner with hardware, systems, quality, product, and clinical teams to deliver reliable software on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or equivalent practical knowledge.
• Commercial software application development background with at least 3 years of embedded C/C++ experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ programming (object‑oriented).
• Python scripting.
• Version control tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
• Issue tracking tools like Jira or Confluence.
• CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of software design, code reviews, debugging, and testing.
