Software Engineer, EOS (Early‑career/Mid-level)

About the role

Join the Extensible Operating System (EOS) team in Sydney, developing the software that powers the world’s largest data‑center networks. As a core member you will design, implement and deliver networking features for Arista’s switching products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative networking features using C/C++ and Python on Arista’s Linux‑based EOS.
• Collaborate with product management, customers and fellow engineers to define functional and technical requirements.
• Write functional specifications, design documents, test plans and automated tests to ensure high‑quality code.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Work directly with Customer Support Engineers to triage, debug and resolve complex network issues.

Required profile

• Early‑career to mid‑level software engineer with strong programming skills.
• Experience developing software in C/C++ and Python on Linux platforms.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and automated tests.
• Willingness to engage with customers and support teams to solve network problems.
