Software Developer Intern - Melbourne

About the role

An innovative technology company in Melbourne is seeking a motivated Software Developer Intern. The internship runs for 12 weeks at 2-3 days per week, starting immediately, and suits students and recent graduates who want practical Australian industry experience on real software development projects. It is a self-funded internship offered through a professional internship program.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the design, development and testing of web and software applications
• Write, debug and maintain clean, efficient code
• Support front-end and back-end development tasks
• Take part in code reviews and software testing
• Help with bug fixing and system improvements
• Work with databases and APIs
• Collaborate with developers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Maintain technical documentation where required

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently completed a qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn

Required skills

• Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C# or PHP
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web development frameworks is advantageous
