About the role
A warm-hearted female volunteer is needed in the Green Valley area to spend an hour with an elderly woman once a week. The lady, who is aged and full of stories, enjoys chatting, sharing experiences and simply having company during the day. This is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which promotes links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the lady once a week for an hour, face to face.
- Chat and share experiences, and provide company during the day.
- Help improve the quality of life and reduce isolation for the person visited.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for weekly visits between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday; a time will be worked out to suit the volunteer.
