About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that runs the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, is looking for a friendly Maltese-speaking volunteer to visit an elderly lady in her home in Green Valley. The visits bring companionship and conversation, giving the resident comfort, connection and a sense of familiarity in her own language.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the elderly lady at her home on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10am and before 4pm.
- Stay for 30 minutes to 1 hour per visit.
- Enjoy watching TV together, sharing "Find-a-word" puzzle books, having a coffee and chatting in Maltese.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- No special skills required; kindness, reliability and a caring heart are enough.
- Volunteers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome.
The volunteer is contacted by phone or text after expressing interest, with a follow-up email if needed. More information on volunteering with HammondCare is available on its website.
