Social Lead – Lead Major Australian Social Account

About the role

Akcelo is looking for a strategically driven Social Lead to manage one of Australia’s biggest social accounts. You will own the brand’s social presence, drive community‑first content, and turn insights into business‑focused opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary social partner for the client, understanding business challenges and providing strategic insights.
• Own the content calendar, plan channel‑specific messaging, and balance brand priorities.
• Identify cultural moments, track viral trends, and determine when the brand should engage.
• Utilise social listening tools to analyse data and uncover opportunities for deeper social impact.
• Lead community engagement, influencer connections, and crisis communication frameworks.
• Collaborate with creatives, strategists, and producers to deliver innovative social work.

Required profile

• 10+ years of social experience, preferably from an agency or client‑direct background.
• Strong communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead a team of social managers/executives.
• Passion for subcultures and a desire to share personal insights.
• Comfort with fast‑paced, urgent environments and proactive problem‑solving.
