SOC Analyst – Security Operations

About the role

Leidos is seeking SOC Analysts to join the GEO SPACES Security Operations team in Canberra. The role involves monitoring, detection, response, and engineering of security tools for mission‑critical networks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, detect and respond to security incidents across SIEM, endpoint, network and gateway platforms.
• Manage vulnerabilities, conduct cyber‑threat intelligence analysis and develop security operation system requirements.
• Provide trusted advisory services and maintain stakeholder relationships, including partner SOCs and defence authorities.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with an active NV2 clearance willing to uplift to TSPV and meet DISA/OSA requirements.
• Junior candidates: minimum 2 years IT security or 4 years general IT support experience; senior candidates: 5‑10 years delivering SOC functions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a security operations team.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM, endpoint protection, network and gateway security tools.
• Vulnerability management and cyber‑threat intelligence.
• Scripting or coding experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
