Site Manager – Fitout / Refurbishment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead fit‑out and refurbishment projects across commercial, hospitality, industrial and retail sectors. You will own the day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and high‑quality delivery from set‑up to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle site delivery of fit‑out and refurbishment works, from mobilisation to practical completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress against programme, budget and specifications.
• Implement and maintain WHS standards, conduct inductions, toolbox talks and review SWMS.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, including ITPs, hold points and defect management.
• Develop short‑term programmes, weekly look‑aheads and daily priorities.
• Arrange material deliveries, logistics and site access in live operational environments.
• Chair site meetings with subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
• Prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager and flag risks or delays.
• Manage project handover, including documentation, defect rectification and close‑out.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building or related field, or equivalent trade background.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager in fit‑out or refurbishment.
• Current White Card and First Aid Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices.
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate trades in live sites.
• Experience reading architectural and services drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management software such as Procore or Aconex.
