Simulator Technician III

About the role

CAE is hiring a Simulator Technician III in St Peters. The technician performs complex assignments in the office, on site, in the field and in the laboratory, solving simulator and aircraft systems problems. The position is regular.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and correct simulator and aircraft systems problems, and run and evaluate FAA ATG/QTG tests.
• Use the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
• Train and provide technical training to other technicians, and complete designated training activities.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks, visual alignments, and assist the engineering team with modifications, design changes and software enhancements.
• Perform refurbishment, hardware modifications and software changes, and coordinate corrections of training deficiencies.
• Assist the Group Lead with day-to-day maintenance operations and comply with the CAE quality management system.
• Provide customer service support, handle logistics (parts received, repair, testing and validation), and carry out housekeeping, administrative and technical services group tasks.

Required profile

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct simulator experience, with at least 3 years at each assigned location.
• Demonstrated ability as technical expert on at least one major simulator system (motion, visual, aircraft systems, etc.).
• Ability to assist the engineering team with modifications and to help develop and deliver technical training.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with all types of test equipment.
• Software diagnostics and utilities on at least one simulator type.
• Troubleshooting skills and in-depth analysis for hardware modifications and upgrades.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
