Shift Supervisor – Sample Preparation

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Shift Supervisor for Sample Preparation to lead a fast‑paced, mission‑critical laboratory operation. You will manage a team across crushing, milling, drying and splitting, ensuring smooth production and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and inspire a team across crushing, milling, drying and splitting operations.
• Maintain efficient production flow to meet daily and weekly targets.
• Promote a safety‑first culture through coaching, mentoring and visible leadership.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Logistics and Lab teams to keep processes running smoothly.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement smarter ways of working.
• Maintain accurate shift reports, monitor KPIs and ensure quality standards are met.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience supervising or leading teams in lab, mining, processing or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of sample preparation workflows or similar production settings.
• Proactive, hands‑on leadership approach.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Passion for safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Desirable: exposure to LIMS or production systems, Lean/process improvement knowledge, forklift licence.
