Shift Operator

About the role

The Shift Operator joins ATOMATOM’s Brisbane fuel terminal team, ensuring bulk fuel products are received, stored and moved safely and reliably. Working on a rotating day‑and‑night roster, you will be the frontline observer of terminal operations, supporting continuous 24/7 service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate terminal equipment to control product imports from ships and pipeline flows.
• Identify hazards, enforce safety procedures and act as the first line of defence against incidents.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with site rules and safe work practices.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time, escalating when necessary to keep processes on track.
• Maintain clear communication with the team, contributing to a collaborative and safety‑focused environment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work calmly under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and clear communication.
• Willingness to learn technical aspects of fuel terminal operations; prior experience in high‑risk or industrial settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Reliable, adaptable and motivated to take responsibility for critical operations.
