Shift Electrician - Hot Coil Processing Despatch

About the role

BlueScope's Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Shift Electrician for its Hot Coil Processing Despatch (HCPD) team. The HCPD operations manufacture and dispatch coil products such as Hot Rolled Coil, TRU-SPEC Steel, EMBAR Steel and Hot Rolled Slit Strip. You will join a cross-functional team that keeps equipment maintained to high standards for quality and reliability. This is a shift position on a 12-hour 24 x 7 rotating roster of mixed day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the safe system of work and prepare isolation instructions and job safety analyses for the required work.
• Perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs.
• Fault-find on electrical equipment, including PLCs and drive systems.
• Fault-find on steel processing equipment and cranes.
• Perform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings.

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualifications.
• Current NSW Electrical License.
• Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience fault-finding and problem-solving, and initiative in carrying out equipment repairs.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Required skills

• Industrial electrical systems.
• Experience working with PLCs and drives.
