About the role
An experienced GP with an interest in drug and alcohol medicine is sought to join a team in Tuggeranong, ACT, on a sessional basis. You will deliver frontline care to patients accessing drug and alcohol services, including Opioid Maintenance Treatment (OMT), in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, non-judgmental care to patients accessing drug and alcohol services
- Drug and alcohol assessment, management and ongoing review
- Opioid maintenance treatment (methadone, buprenorphine and buprenorphine/naloxone)
- Collaborate with nursing, allied health and pharmacy partners
Required profile
- FRACGP or equivalent
- Interest in drug and alcohol medicine; OMT prescriber status is welcome and support is offered to obtain or maintain it
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- Warm, non-judgmental approach
