Service Technician – Levels 1 to 3

About the role

The Service Technician I supports fleet reliability by performing preventive maintenance, structured diagnostics, and component‑level repairs on Serve’s delivery robots. This early‑career role operates with guidance on complex issues and aims to develop independent troubleshooting capability, directly impacting fleet uptime and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderate hardware repairs, component swaps, and preventive maintenance in accordance with established SOPs.
• Execute structured diagnostic procedures using approved hardware and software tools.
• Conduct inspections and validation testing to confirm repair effectiveness.
• Perform component‑level replacements such as motors, sensors, harnesses, and mechanical assemblies.
• Escalate complex or recurring failures to higher‑level technicians.
• Accurately document all work in MaintainX with detailed notes, photos, and supporting evidence.
• Maintain parts usage accuracy and support inventory tracking.
• Identify repeat repair patterns and flag potential systemic concerns.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of hands‑on technical experience in electro‑mechanical, automotive, electronics, robotics or similar industries.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with standard diagnostic tools such as multimeter, power supply and general shop tools.
• Experience working in shop, lab or field‑service environments.
• Flexibility to work weekends as part of a 5‑day schedule.
