Service Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

The Services Manager for Power Conversion Systems / Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will lead service delivery across Hitachi's PCS portfolio, focusing on the legacy installed base and the Waratah and Ulinda projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage BESS service teams, allocating resources and driving performance to ensure successful project and service delivery.
• Execute service contracts, SLAs and unplanned service activities while managing scope, schedule, quality, costs, risks and resources.
• Monitor financial performance of projects, including invoicing, budgets, expenses, cash flow and profitability.
• Act as primary customer contact, handling stakeholder relationships, escalations and satisfaction.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve field issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain for procurement, supplier evaluation and claims management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Controls or related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience delivering large power‑system services, including power automation, generation, control, BESS or inverter technology.
• Experience in heavy‑engineering sectors such as mining, oil & gas or heavy industry.
• Strong technical aptitude in power systems and generation.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem‑solving abilities.
