Senior/Principal Water Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

KBR is looking for a Senior or Principal Water Infrastructure Engineer to join its Adelaide team. You will provide technical leadership across a pipeline of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in South Australia and nationally, leading and reviewing the design of pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities and associated infrastructure. Depending on your experience, you will join at either Senior or Principal level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and technical assurance of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, acting as Lead Engineer, Technical Authority or Independent Reviewer.
• Review designs prepared by contractors, consultants and delivery partners, giving practical, risk-based advice.
• Drive value-for-money outcomes through fit-for-purpose design, digital engineering and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with client requirements, standards and regulations.
• Lead project delivery from planning through to construction support, managing technical risk and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Represent KBR in client meetings, workshops and industry forums, and support proposals, tenders and business development.
• Mentor engineers in modelling, design and reporting, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards chartership.
• Experience designing and delivering water supply and/or sewerage infrastructure, and reviewing engineering designs.
• Experience leading or contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Desirable: experience with SA Water standards, hydraulic modelling or network analysis, and design assurance or owner's engineer roles.
• Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for a Baseline Defence Security Clearance and ITAR requirements.
