Senior Workshop Manager - Bulk Liquid Tanker Repair

About the role

Mechanics Recruitment, on behalf of its client, is seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Manager to lead a state-of-the-art tanker repair facility in Western Australia. The workshop specialises in bulk liquid tanker maintenance and repair, and the role suits a seasoned professional with strong expertise in mechanical servicing, fabrication, workshop operations and compliance. The manager oversees all aspects of the workshop, drives efficiency, ensures safety and compliance and leads a highly skilled team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of tanker repairs, servicing and maintenance
• Lead and mentor supervisors, technicians and fabricators
• Manage workshop scheduling, production planning and labour allocation
• Oversee budgeting, job costing and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with AS2809, OH&S and heavy vehicle modification regulations
• Enforce a safety-first culture and implement process improvements
• Act as primary contact for clients and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

Required profile

• 5+ years in a senior mechanical or fabrication workshop management role
• Proven leadership ability to manage large teams and complex projects
• Heavy vehicle repair, mechanical servicing and fabrication expertise (bulk liquid tanker knowledge highly desirable)
• Experience with budgeting, job costing and cost control
• Knowledge of AS2809, OH&S and heavy vehicle modification standards
