Metal Fabricator & Welder (First Class)

About the role

Steelworx Engineering, an engineering business in Bibra Lake, WA, provides fabrication, piping and welding services to clients across many industries, handling projects from consultation and design through to production and installation. It is looking for a Metal Fabricator and a First-Class Welder on a full-time roster of 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing and treating with acidic solutions
• Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with team members and management
• Follow workplace policies, procedures and safety requirements
• For the welder: diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently, interpret plans and work orders, and carry out installation, maintenance and repair work to specification

Required profile

• Certificate III including at least one year of relevant experience, or Certificate IV; at least 3 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the formal qualification
• Relevant experience may also be required
