Senior Water & Wastewater Engineer – Tweed Shire

About the role

The Tweed Council is hiring three senior engineers to lead planning and delivery of essential water and wastewater projects. These positions will shape the region’s infrastructure, protect public health, and support sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of water and wastewater infrastructure in line with council strategic objectives.
• Represent the asset owner in planning, approvals and regulatory matters.
• Provide specialist engineering advice for new development connections, upgrades and operations.
• Assess development applications for water supply and wastewater service requirements.
• Mentor and manage multidisciplinary technical staff.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Civil Engineer, eligible for NPER and Engineers Australia membership.
• Broad knowledge of planning, design and construction techniques for water and wastewater projects.
• Proven leadership experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of NSW water and sewerage legislation and infrastructure planning requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
