Senior URD Electrical Designer

About the role

Egis Group is seeking a Senior URD Electrical Designer to lead detailed design and documentation for infrastructure projects across Brisbane. You will work closely with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality electrical solutions on time.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake electrical engineering design services in line with Australian and IEC standards for subdivisions, public lighting, large customer connections, NBN pit and pipe, and authority relocations.
• Prepare and submit works plans, council approvals and supply agreements; attend design coordination and on‑site construction meetings.
• Provide construction‑stage technical support, review tenders, certify claims and produce as‑built documentation.
• Support training and development of junior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in Energex design and infrastructure projects.
• Qualified Electrical Engineer with strong knowledge of overhead/underground distribution, substation layout, earthing, transformer bays and lightning protection.
• Proven ability to perform engineering calculations such as cable sizing, transformer rating and protection settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe, Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong technical knowledge of URD design principles and Australian/IEC standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
