Senior Tax Advisor – Indirect Tax

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end indirect tax compliance, including GST, insurance duty and regulatory reporting such as the Taxable Payments Annual Report.
• Provide practical advice on complex indirect tax matters and translate emerging legislation into clear policies.
• Identify and implement improvements to tax governance, controls and processes.
• Partner with Finance, Risk, Legal, Procurement and Technology to embed tax considerations into operations.
• Represent the Tax function with external advisors and government authorities.
• Develop guidance, training and coaching to build indirect tax capability.
• Support employment tax compliance, including PAYG withholding, FBT and payroll tax.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and current CA or CPA membership.
• At least 5 years’ experience managing indirect tax in a large corporate, government or professional services environment.
• Strong technical expertise in GST and related compliance, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end compliance programs and resolve complex tax issues.
• Australian working rights and ability to pass pre‑employment screening.
