Senior Tax Accountant / Manager

About the role

Clarke McEwan, a chartered accounting and advisory firm with more than 30 years in practice and offices in Maroochydore and Brisbane, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant / Manager for its Maroochydore team. This is a senior leadership role managing a portfolio of clients while leading, developing and reviewing the work of a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of individuals, companies, trusts and SMSFs, including financial statements, tax returns and year-end compliance
• Lead and supervise the team, allocating work and managing workflow and deadlines
• Review work prepared by staff and provide technical guidance and feedback
• Deliver proactive tax planning and business advisory services to clients
• Work alongside the Director on complex tax, restructuring and advisory engagements
• Contribute to improving firm processes, systems and service delivery

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified
• Substantial Australian public practice experience at senior or manager level
• Strong technical tax knowledge across all entity types
• Proven experience supervising staff and reviewing work
• Confident client communicator with sound commercial judgement

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud platforms; experience with Xero, XPM, FYI Docs and BGL360 is highly regarded
