Assistant Manager - Commercial Banking

About the role

ANZ Business & Private Bank is hiring an Assistant Manager in Maroochydore (Level 7, 50 First Avenue) within the Diversified Industries Division. The role leads to many career pathways within commercial banking and offers tailored learning and accreditation. It is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customers together with the Relationship Manager
• Proactively develop and maintain a detailed understanding of each customer's business and financial needs
• Support customers with suitable products and services, acting in their best interest
• Provide solutions for account maintenance and customer needs
• Keep the portfolio compliant with relevant policies and procedures
• Maintain control of workflows across compliance and customer fulfilment processes
• Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to meet customer needs

Required profile

• Ideal prior experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending
• Ability to manage strong customer relationships, handle service queries and solve minor issues
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
• Preferred: tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting or Ag Science/Economics
• Preferred: familiarity with agricultural industry experience

Required skills

• Assessing a customer's ability to meet credit obligations using the 5Cs of credit
• Familiarity with risk management concepts, especially credit, risk and market risk
• Familiarity with KYC and AML regulatory requirements
• Managing multiple tasks and keeping track of customer documentation, transactions and internal communications
