Senior Systems Administrator – Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator with a focus on infrastructure engineering. The 12‑month contract will be based onsite in Canberra and will involve designing, deploying and managing secure, enterprise‑scale environments across Linux, virtualised and cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, maintenance and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure and platforms.
• Manage and optimise Linux‑based systems on‑premises and in cloud environments.
• Design, deploy and administer VMware and VMware Aria solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation and configuration‑management pipelines using modern tooling.
• Deploy and support containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes across multiple platforms.
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain networking components such as VLANs, DNS, load balancers and firewall rules.
• Provision developer and analyst tooling, including IDEs, package managers and secure access controls.
• Build and maintain isolated or sandboxed environments for testing and analysis.
• Collaborate with system administrators, developers and stakeholders to improve performance and processes.
• Mentor team members, contribute to design reviews and provide expert advice on infrastructure solutions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Linux systems administration on‑premises and in cloud environments.
• Strong expertise with VMware and VMware Aria throughout design, deployment and lifecycle management.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes container technologies.
• Solid networking knowledge, including VLAN, DNS, load balancer and firewall configuration.
• Proven ability to deploy developer environments, package‑management tools and secure access controls.
• Experience designing and supporting sandboxed or isolated environments.
• Advanced automation and scripting skills using configuration‑management and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance.
