Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead bridge and heavy‑civil structural design projects in Perth, delivering solutions that meet Australian standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and check bridge and structural designs in accordance with AS 5100, Austroads and Main Roads WA (MRWA) standards.
• Prepare and review design reports, calculations, construction drawings and specifications across concept, preliminary, detailed and IFC stages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, drainage, road design and construction advisors.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments and safety‑in‑design workshops.
• Mentor graduate and mid‑level engineers and liaise with clients, stakeholders and approval authorities.

Required profile

• 8–12 years’ experience in bridge/heavy‑civil structural design.
• Sound knowledge of MRWA standards and submission processes.
• CPEng or near‑chartered status with Engineers Australia.
• Strong communication skills and attention to design quality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SpaceGass, Strand7, LUSAS and Midas.
• Ability to produce and review technical documentation and construction specifications.
