Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings & Structures

About the role

Join Robert Bird Group’s Buildings and Structures team in North Sydney as a Senior Structural Engineer. You will play a pivotal part in delivering high‑quality structural solutions for a range of building projects across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate structural design and documentation for local and national projects.
• Develop structural components using software such as Space Gass, ETABS, Microstran and Strand7.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with client requirements and RBG technical standards.
• Prepare engineering reports and support tender proposals.
• Collaborate proactively with engineers, drafters, project managers and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the technical success of projects and maintain project timelines.
• Engage with clients alongside Project Directors and Associates.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification focused on Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in an engineering design consultancy.
• Strong background in steel and concrete design.
• CPEng registration or active pursuit of chartership.
• Proven experience with structural design software.
• Project management experience covering administrative, commercial and technical aspects.
• Deep knowledge of Australian codes and standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full working rights in Australia.
