Senior Structural Designer - Materials Handling

About the role

AECOM is looking for a skilled Structural Designer with 7 to 15 years of experience in materials handling projects to join its team in Fortitude Valley. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in AutoCAD, Advanced Steel and Revit with the ability to work autonomously in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs and drawings for materials handling projects using AutoCAD and Advanced Steel and Revit
• Create and manage 3D models for steel structures and concrete, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications
• Identify design challenges proactively and propose innovative solutions
• Work with limited supervision and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers and other designers, to deliver coordinated project outcomes

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Structural Design, Civil Engineering or a related field
• 7 to 15 years of experience in structural design, specifically in materials handling projects
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Advanced Steel for structural design and detailing
• Proficiency in Revit for concrete design and detailing
• Familiarity with Inventor, Plant 3D and Navisworks or other 3D modelling software is highly desirable
• Certification or training in AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Revit or other design tools is an advantage
