2027 Graduate Overhead Line Equipment Engineer - Rail (Electrical)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE) Engineer to join its growing Rail team in Brisbane. OHLE is critical for modern rail, especially as cities move toward electrified transport systems. The role sits within a pipeline of major rail and infrastructure projects across Queensland and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design of overhead line equipment systems, including wiring layouts and supporting structures
• Assist in developing design documentation and drawings for rail electrification projects
• Learn to apply relevant standards and specifications, such as 25kV AC, 750V DC and 1500V DC systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as track, civil, power and signalling engineers
• Contribute to construction support activities, including site inspections and technical queries
• Help identify and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering, in the final year or completed
• Graduated before starting the program, able to commence by February 2027 (mid-year finishers can start in July 2027)
• Full working rights in Australia or New Zealand; student and graduate visa holders are accepted
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, proactive and adaptable mindset, and commitment to professionalism and integrity
