Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Join a growing structural engineering consultancy in Sydney as a Senior Structural Design Engineer. You will lead the design and delivery of industrial and commercial projects, focusing on structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast structures from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake concept, tender and detailed design of structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast elements.
• Prepare design details, documentation for drafters and engineering reports.
• Coordinate engineering activities with drafters, project teams and external consultants.
• Liaise with architects, builders, fabricators and panel suppliers, attending project and client meetings.
• Provide technical advice, respond to RFIs, contractor queries and conduct site inspections.
• Review shop drawings, conduct steelwork and bolt inspections, and support defect investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast design.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders while providing technical leadership.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design software proficiency.
• Design of structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast concrete elements.
• Technical review and peer‑review of engineering designs.
• Preparation of detailed design documentation and engineering reports.
