Senior Staff Solutions Engineer

About the role

Kong (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Staff Solutions Engineer to act as a key technical leader. The role involves architecting, designing and implementing robust API management solutions for clients, driving technical excellence and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex API architectures using advanced API Design and API Management principles.
• Develop and implement secure authentication and authorisation strategies for API services.
• Drive adoption of automation technologies, including CI/CD pipelines, to streamline development and deployment.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and best practices.
• Manage and oversee technical aspects of client projects, including scoping, planning and execution.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, turn them into technical solutions and communicate effectively.
• Act as a subject matter expert in the Software Development Life Cycle and perform complex system integration tasks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software architecture or a senior development role.
• Demonstrable expertise in API Design and API Management platforms; Kong experience is highly regarded.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Excellent technical communication, able to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
