Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics)

About the role

Caboolture Hospital in Brisbane North is looking for a Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics) to deliver high-level speech pathology services to infants, children and their families. The role covers the outpatient paediatric videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) clinic, post-acute feeding clinic, inpatient neonatal feeding services and developmental screening and diagnostics, and involves expert assessment, intervention and consultancy alongside service leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced assessment, diagnosis and intervention for paediatric and neonatal patients with complex feeding, swallowing and communication needs
• Provide clinical advice and consultancy to health professionals, managers, families and stakeholders
• Lead and support VFSS, specialised feeding services and developmental screening programs
• Supervise, educate and mentor speech pathologists, students and support staff
• Drive service improvement, research and quality initiatives
• Support service development, clinical education and staff development

Required profile

• Ability to perform the accountabilities in line with Metro North Health's values
• Experience in paediatric speech pathology
