Senior Software Engineer – GoLang

About the role

Optus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in GoLang to design, build, and support high‑performance integration services and enterprise applications that underpin key OSS platforms. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on coding, solution design, and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and support enterprise‑grade GoLang applications, APIs, micro‑services and event‑driven solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Lead technical design discussions, code reviews and engineering decisions while mentoring engineers and championing modern development best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and cross‑functional teams to deliver robust solutions for complex business challenges.

Required profile

• 7‑8 years of commercial experience delivering production‑grade GoLang applications with end‑to‑end ownership.
• Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills, able to mentor others and influence technical direction in a complex enterprise environment.

Required skills

• GoLang development, including APIs, micro‑services, concurrent processing, design patterns, performance optimisation, testing and code quality.
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, event‑driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
