Senior Security Engineer - Platforms and Engineering

About the role

IDP, a global international education services company operating in more than 50 countries, is looking for a security professional who enjoys solving complex problems and connecting across multiple security domains. This is a cross-functional role covering platform engineering, vulnerability management, security tooling, investigations, governance, cloud technologies and operational security, based in Melbourne (preferred) with a flexible location across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, implement and manage security technologies
• Drive security tooling initiatives from vendor selection and proof-of-concept through procurement, deployment and operation
• Own and mature vulnerability management across the organisation
• Review and optimise configurations of existing security platforms
• Recommend and implement security standards, controls and policy improvements
• Support digital forensic investigations and incident response
• Partner with technology and business leaders to manage risk and secure critical platforms
• Contribute to security strategy, engineering standards and continuous improvement

Required profile

• 8-10 years of experience in security engineering, operations or cyber security
• Experience implementing and administering enterprise security platforms
• Strong vulnerability management and remediation experience
• Exposure to security investigations, incident response or digital forensics
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Curious mindset and willingness to learn across security disciplines; experience in both structured corporate environments and fast-moving teams is highly regarded
