Senior Salesforce Developer

About the role

Export Finance Australia (EFA), Australia's export credit agency, is looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer to join its Sydney team. The role covers the design, development, integration and ongoing enhancement of the organisation's Salesforce platform, delivering secure, scalable and supportable solutions that meet business needs. It works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Information Security, delivery teams and external partners, providing hands-on technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow and other declarative capabilities.
• Lead technical delivery of complex Salesforce initiatives, including solution design, estimation, development, integration, testing, deployment and production support.
• Make build-versus-configure decisions, considering maintainability, platform limits and total cost of ownership.
• Integrate Salesforce with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware and Azure Integration services.
• Own code quality through peer reviews, coding standards, static analysis and automated testing, and define source-control and release-management practices including Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines.
• Diagnose complex incidents, monitor technical health and manage technical debt and platform risks.
• Apply secure-by-design principles and plan unit, integration, regression and performance testing, plus support SIT and UAT.
• Mentor developers and delivery partners, and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile delivery and communicate technical options, dependencies, risks and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including complex enterprise solutions.
• Degree qualification, with additional Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I or II, JavaScript Developer I, Application Architect or System Architect.
• Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery, mentor developers and influence decisions across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and core Salesforce platform capabilities.
• Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce Flow.
• Understanding of governor limits, bulkification, asynchronous processing and transaction management.
• REST and SOAP API integration, and Salesforce DX, Git, CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Data modelling and access controls via permission sets, permission set groups, roles and sharing rules.
• Agile delivery and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
