Senior Safety Advisor (FIFO)

About the role

A senior-level HSEQ leadership role covering a portfolio of remote FIFO sites, working from the Brisbane office with a hybrid arrangement and frequent travel to sites. The position partners with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture, ensure compliance and build capability, following a "See, Care, Share" approach to safety, accountability and employee wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HSEQ leadership across remote FIFO sites and coach, mentor and develop Site Managers and teams.
• Lead risk management, ensuring hazards are identified, assessed and controlled.
• Support compliance with WHS, environmental, hygiene, quality, client and company requirements through audits, inspections and assurance.
• Conduct and support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Analyse HSEQ performance data and trends to drive improvement.
• Build relationships with clients and site stakeholders through training, toolbox talks and leadership engagement.
• Develop and run a FIFO site engagement plan prioritised by risk, performance, maturity and operational needs.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in HSEQ or a related discipline, with strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• At least 3 years supporting safe operations and influencing leaders to embed HSEQ standards.
• Demonstrated experience in FIFO, remote or multi-site environments.
• Incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and coordinate a FIFO engagement plan.

• Advanced computer literacy; current unrestricted driver's licence and ability to meet mine site medical and client entry requirements.
• Certificate IV Training & Assessment and a current Coal Board Medical are highly regarded.
