Senior Python Developer

About the role

Persistent, an AI-led digital engineering and enterprise modernization partner, is hiring a Senior Python Developer based in Sydney, Australia. This is a full-time position requiring 12+ years of experience.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, design patterns, clean code practices and automated testing.
• Proven hands-on development experience, preferably in Python, building scalable and maintainable production systems.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-native, distributed or event-driven systems and contributing to technical design decisions.
• Experience building or integrating APIs, data pipelines, workflow automation and data-intensive applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
• Knowledge of observability practices, including monitoring, logging, alerting and production support.
• Understanding of secure software development and DevSecOps principles.
• Experience or knowledge of banking, lending, working capital, trade finance, commodities or financial markets is highly regarded.
