Senior Project Manager - Building & Construction

About the role

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for its Building & Construction team, which delivers complex commercial construction projects across South Australia. The role covers leadership from pre-construction through to completion, overseeing project performance, commercial outcomes and client relationships, and mentoring Project Managers and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major commercial construction projects
• Mentor Project Managers, Site Managers and project teams
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, procurement and commercial performance
• Oversee contract administration, risk management and programme delivery
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
• Drive project planning, resourcing and delivery strategies
• Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and environmental requirements
• Identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering and continuous improvement
• Support business development and future project wins

Required profile

• 7+ years delivering commercial construction projects as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager
• Proven experience delivering Design & Construct projects
• Experience with a Tier 2 contractor or high-performing Tier 3 contractor
• Demonstrated experience with multi-storey commercial construction
• Strong commercial acumen and leadership and people management skills
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or similar (preferred)

Required skills

• Understanding of construction contracts and project delivery methodologies
• Stakeholder engagement and communication
• Project management software such as Procore, Pronto or similar (a plus)
