Senior Project Controls Specialist/Engineer

About the role

Egis Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Specialist to join its Brisbane team. The role focuses on cost control while also supporting schedule maintenance, project coordination and document management across consulting, engineering, mining, infrastructure and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day cost control for assigned projects, establishing budgets, control accounts and cost baselines.
• Prepare forecasts, estimate‑at‑completion, cash‑flow, commitments and accruals, reconciling them with financial systems.
• Monitor actual and committed costs, revenue, invoicing and margins; investigate variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain variation and change registers, assess cost and schedule impacts and update baselines.
• Analyse project schedules (P6 or MS Project), identify slippage and cost‑schedule impacts.
• Coordinate project‑controls inputs across managers, technical leads and delivery teams, ensuring information gaps are closed.
• Support project setup, governance reviews, reporting cycles and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project controls, cost control or project finance within a delivery environment.
• Ability to support multiple project managers independently and manage competing reporting priorities.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to question data and advise stakeholders.

Required skills

• Oracle ERP Financials or Oracle Project Portfolio Management (preferred).
• Primavera P6 or MS Project for schedule management.
• Advanced Excel for complex financial data handling.
