Senior Production Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Metz Specialty Materials is seeking a Senior Production Manager to own and lead manufacturing operations at its Quality Accredited facility in Clayton, Melbourne. You will manage both powder and liquid production streams in a high‑value, small‑batch environment, ensuring safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Full operational ownership of powder and liquid manufacturing, including performance, safety and output.
• Lead, develop and drive performance of production, technical and warehouse teams (5–8 staff).
• Oversee procurement, production planning, manufacturing, warehousing and despatch.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, environmental regulations and Dangerous Goods handling and storage.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, yield optimisation and waste reduction.
• Maintain quality system accreditation and collaborate with technical, R&D and in‑house application teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a senior production or operations role.
• Experience in an Australian manufacturing environment, preferably in construction materials or related process industries.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Dangerous Goods and environmental compliance.
• Proven hands‑on leadership capability in a manufacturing setting.
