Dairy Production Supervisor

About the role

The Dairy Production Supervisor will lead the day‑shift team at our Carrum Downs site, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help shape the production plan and optimise site performance in a fast‑moving, short‑shelf‑life environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise day‑shift teams to achieve production targets and KPIs.
• Ensure role‑specific and site‑wide compliance training is completed.
• Manage material, labour and equipment utilisation to meet the agreed production plan.
• Support maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Oversee short, medium and long‑term team performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Produce and analyse production reports, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Promote a safety‑first culture and address safety concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or Team Leader in food manufacturing, preferably dairy.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles.
• Proactive attitude towards safety and quality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all organisational levels.
