Smart Communications. · Sydney et périphérie
Job description
About the role
Smart Communications is looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design on its messaging and orchestration product SmartPATH, joining a distributed design group supporting a global B2B SaaS company. The role is hands-on: you will own end-to-end design for complex, enterprise-grade workflows, contribute to the shared design system and mentor other designers. It sits within the wider Smart Communications product suite serving regulated industries such as healthcare, banking and insurance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead product design for SmartPATH from discovery through delivery, working closely with product management and engineering.
- Collaborate across other products and at the platform level, helping evolve the shared design system so patterns stay consistent and scalable.
- Assess and prioritise usability and experience improvements across the suite, backed by user research and usability testing (qualitative and quantitative).
- Take the lead on complex design challenges, including multi-journey flows, accessibility and integration points.
- Design AI-enabled and data-driven user experiences, using AI-assisted design tools and workflows such as prompt-driven prototyping.
- Mentor other designers and support onboarding of new team members into design tools, processes and systems.
- Present design decisions to stakeholders and evangelise design and design thinking across the business.
- Contribute to sprint planning and effort estimates, and keep up with industry developments.
Required profile
- Significant experience as a product designer owning complex, end-to-end design in a B2B or enterprise SaaS context.
- Experience designing AI-enabled or data-driven user experiences and fluency with AI-assisted design tools.
- User research and usability testing experience with qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Solid understanding of design systems and mentoring or informal leadership of other designers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to stakeholders and work asynchronously across time zones.
Required skills
- Figma or an equivalent design tool.
- Interaction design, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping and visual design (typography, layout, colour).
- Advantageous: front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), accessibility standards (WCAG), analytics tools, CXM/CCM or enterprise SaaS platforms, responsive cross-channel design, Miro and Jira, and regulated industries experience.
What we offer
- Tools, equipment and support; salary depends on experience and is highly competitive.
- Annual bonus based on company performance.
- Vision benefits, subsidised gym membership and 20 days holiday allowance plus an extra day off for your birthday.
- Hybrid setup with occasional office work; offices in Sydney and Canberra.
