Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Gympie factory on a 12‑month maternity‑leave contract. You will work with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance manufacturing performance and support new product industrialisation in a leading Australian food manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability, efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.
• Apply engineering expertise to resolve complex technical challenges and minimise downtime.
• Manage capital and process improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Support new product industrialisation and process optimisation activities.
• Champion safety, quality, environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance across the site.
• Coach and develop operators and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Process, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven project management and continuous improvement capability.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and a passion for safety, quality and operational excellence.
