Electrical Automation Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Automation Engineer to join our team at the Gympie factory, home to iconic coffee brands NESCAFÉ and INTERNATIONAL ROAST. You will lead and own Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Electrical & Automation assets, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operation.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in capital investment projects, delivering technical solutions on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Prepare user and technical specifications, coordinate requirements across production, quality and maintenance, and manage pre‑testing, implementation and training.
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of MES‑E&A solutions throughout all projects.
- Guarantee process and equipment safety, adopting a zero‑tolerance stance for unsafe conditions.
- Implement change‑management procedures for any modifications to MES‑E&A systems.
- Apply relevant legislation and Nestlé internal compliance audits covering electrical, calibration and hazardous‑area requirements.
- Keep key documentation (SLD, URS, FDS, calibration procedures) up to date and support M&I activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics.
- 4+ years experience in a complex electrical and automation leadership role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proven experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with experience leading technical teams and contractors.
- Hands‑on experience in start‑up of technical equipment or production lines.
- Self‑management ability, tracking defined KPIs and objectives proactively.
