Senior Platform Engineer - Security

About the role

Mitti by SafetyCulture is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer focused on security. The role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and security, analysing complex systems across AWS, networking, client-server and web layers to find vulnerabilities and structural weaknesses. You will partner with platform, software and data engineering teams to integrate security directly into core infrastructure and development workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and advise on how to harden and configure AWS infrastructure and the core networking stack
• Integrate automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Manage security posture across Kubernetes clusters and CrowdStrike CSPM environments
• Investigate security incidents and edge cases in depth, delivering end-to-end remediation
• Influence architectural and security decisions early in design cycles
• Build automation to remove repetitive security tasks, using AI tools where effective
• Own key infrastructure security initiatives with mentorship from engineering leadership

Required profile

• Proven background in infrastructure engineering across AWS and core networking principles
• Strong curiosity and attention to detail, with a track record of root-cause analysis
• Active interest in cloud security fundamentals and defensive engineering
• High autonomy and ownership, able to drive complex technical tasks without predefined playbooks
• Clear technical communication skills across engineering teams

Required skills

• Practical coding experience (Python, Go or similar)
• Hands-on Terraform and CI/CD knowledge
• Nice to have: CSPM tools such as CrowdStrike, enterprise identity management (Okta, Google Workspace, Kandji, Intune), Kubernetes administration and security, and a background in systems administration or network security
