Senior Pilot Plant Operator/Engineer

About the role

Wildfire Energy is looking for a Senior Operator/Engineer to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of its R&D Pilot Plant in Brisbane. Reporting to the CTO, you will work full‑time on‑site, overseeing day‑to‑day plant activities and supporting the development of the Moving Injection Horizontal Gasification (MIHG) technology.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily pilot‑plant operations, manage personnel and contractors.
• Lead start‑up, shutdown, commissioning and testing of plant equipment.
• Develop and execute testing plans, analyse performance data and produce detailed reports.
• Coordinate sampling and analysis of gas, liquid and solid streams.
• Manage feedstock delivery, waste disposal and environmental monitoring.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Perform maintenance activities, ensure asset integrity and compliance with the QLD Petroleum & Gas Act.
• Maintain operating procedures, risk assessments, records and conduct safety inspections.

Required profile

• Engineer with hands‑on plant‑operation experience or technician/operator with strong technical and analytical abilities.
• Proven experience supervising plant personnel and contractors.
• Ability to develop testing plans, analyse data and prepare technical reports.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety management in a chemical/energy environment.
