Mechanical Service Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Service Technician provides high‑quality mechanical service to ensure optimal machine performance and a superior customer experience across food processing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field service work including installation, commissioning, testing, optimisation, maintenance and repair of mechanical components such as sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, bearings, gearboxes, motors and frames.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, carry out repairs and preventative maintenance, and communicate plans and costs to customers.
• Maintain close relationships with sales leadership and the Customer Care Centre, providing updates and identifying sales opportunities.
• Escalate and resolve customer complaints promptly while promoting a “Safety first” culture.

Required profile

• Industrial trade qualification in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, automation or equivalent degree/diploma.
• 3+ years experience as a field service engineer or similar role.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to work under pressure in food processing, farm or cold‑storage environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time and hold a valid driver’s licence and passport.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting of equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, motors and belts.
• PC building, repairing and diagnostic testing.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
