Senior Performance Test Engineer

About the role

SS&C GIDS is looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer with 10+ years of experience in complex, high-volume enterprise systems and a strong LoadRunner background. The role covers performance testing of an expanding .NET-based solution that combines business-critical batch and online systems with new microservices and cloud technologies. The position is based in Melbourne/Sydney on a hybrid model, and candidates must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full performance test lifecycle: define requirements and scope, plan and schedule tests, build scenarios, execute, monitor, analyse and report results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to resolve performance defects and deliver test plans, progress reports and test summary reports to certify releases to production.
• Take part in performance risk identification and mitigation, and help establish performance NFRs and benchmarks.
• Bridge the performance gap between business and technical teams and drive the performance testing strategy, processes and tools.
• Build and optimise automated performance test pipelines, own the test environment and handle capacity planning.
• Work in a cross-functional, multi-region team across Australia and India, attending meetings and workshops at overlapping hours.

Required profile

• 10+ years in performance test engineering, including microservices and cloud-based technology.
• Preferred experience in superannuation, wealth management or other financial services domains.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong communication and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Mandatory: MicroFocus LoadRunner HTTP protocol with C coding and manual correlation, and LoadRunner Analysis.
• Desirable: JMeter, Gatling, K6; MS SQL and Postgres; Microsoft PerfMon, Grafana.
• Windows Server, SQL Server 2019+.NET, microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Confluence, JIRA, Git, and Agile/Scrum.
