Senior Payroll Specialist

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead the management of its outsourced payroll provider for Australian employees. You will act as the primary liaison between the business, employees, People Partner, Finance, and the payroll vendor, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for the outsourced payroll provider and manage the payroll processing calendar.
• Review payroll outputs and reports for accuracy before approval, and lead out‑of‑cycle payments such as termination payments.
• Validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, leave transactions, superannuation adjustments, and workers’ compensation.
• Perform reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure correct calculations, deductions, statutory contributions, and reporting.
• Ensure all statutory filings, returns, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately and on time.
• Support month‑end and year‑end payroll activities and monitor legislative changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing outsourced payroll services in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, Single Touch Payroll (STP), Superannuation Guarantee, and payroll tax requirements.
• Ability to review and validate payroll data, perform reconciliations, and ensure data integrity.
• Experience liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve payroll issues.
