About the role
Jacobs is seeking a Senior or Associate Earthing Engineer to join its Studies team in Australia. The role involves delivering earthing and electromagnetic studies for a variety of critical infrastructure projects across ANZ and globally.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver earthing studies and designs, including earthing & bonding, lightning performance, Earth Potential Rise, Low Frequency Induction, EMF and EMI analysis.
- Lead technical deliverables using CDEGS and PSCAD, perform checking, review activities and support quality assurance.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development and bid support.
- Conduct site inspections and testing such as soil resistivity, current injection and EMF/EMI measurements.
Required profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience delivering earthing studies for substations, transmission, rail, water, mining, airports or similar critical infrastructure.
- Strong technical report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to undertake field work and site testing.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CDEGS software.
- Proficiency with PSCAD software.
