Senior OCS/ICT Engineer

About the role

KBR's Infrastructure Solutions business is looking for a Senior ICT / Operational Communications Systems (OCS) Engineer to join its Electrical infrastructure team. The role leads the design, integration and delivery of ICT and OCS for major rail, defence and transportation projects, working in multidisciplinary project teams from concept and detailed design through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration and delivery of ICT and OCS for major transportation projects
• Develop and review technical designs, specifications, interface requirements and engineering documentation
• Provide specialist expertise in CCTV, PA/VA, passenger information systems, help points, operational networks, fibre infrastructure and wireless communications
• Coordinate system interfaces with signalling, rolling stock, stations, power and other disciplines
• Support systems engineering, assurance, testing, commissioning and acceptance
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with standards, governance, safety assurance and quality requirements

Required profile

• Experience delivering ICT, telecommunications, operational communications or systems engineering solutions on major infrastructure projects
• Rail, metro, light rail, road tunnel, airport or other transportation experience
• Degree in Electrical, Communications, Telecommunications, ICT, Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for Australian Defence security clearance
• Desirable: experience with major rail and metro projects, familiarity with Australian rail standards, chartering (CPEng) or progress towards it, and experience in consulting or design consultancy

• Engineering documentation, design tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Desirable: systems assurance, cybersecurity, RAMS and operational readiness
